Honestly...all of that effort with nothing to show for it but "bragging rights". I bet they tried to place all kinds of demands on Amazon the same way they did when trying to get a grocery store on the Northside of Binghamton. How much do you want to bet President Trump and Jeff Bezos become friendly golf buddies via commiseration? I still can't get over the traitorous behavior of the upper echelon in NY. Choosing Hillary over a genuine native New Yorker? The way they treated him?
I was happy to see fuel prices drop. I wonder if the president can do anything about NYSEG? They must think New Yorkers should be cold in their own homes.

I see we're still bemoaning the behavior of the NYS legislature and some pundits are actualizing Ms Ocasio's small mindedness.
ONWARD AND UPWARD I say Governor Cuomo! Not only did your people throw out Amazon and Jeff Bezos, you threw away any potentiality we had as a state regarding (onward and upward) BLUE ONE. Don't even think about raising school taxes for STEM curricula. I hope every college student in this state sits up and takes notice of what happened here, especially since President Trump announced he was starting an Armed Force division based in space.

I read on Capitol Confidential the NYS budget director, Robert Mujica, issued a letter stating the retail and merchandisers union demanded a living wage of $17.00/hour and unionization of Whole Foods employees. Whole Foods is a subsidiary of Amazon. This is after Governor Cuomo and Mayor deBlasio already had the details of the agreement nailed down. That's why Ms Ocasio and the democrat contingent stated Mr Bezos "didn't want to be a good neighbor". Sound familiar Northsiders? So now, not only are 25,000 Amazon jobs lost but according to Mr Mujica, another 11,000 UNION CONSTRUCTION JOBS ARE LOST. Apparently Mr Bezos had already agreed to a project labor agreement.

From what I understand, it wasn't who voted for her, it was who didn't vote for Joe Crowley. His constituents became complacent and just assumed he would win so they didn't come out to vote. Only 12% of the entire district voted.
Amazon invited Ms Cortez and Mr Generis to tour their organization. I think they should go and see for themselves then APOLOGIZE.
BTW, about that whole" rents will go up too high "argument...don't they still have rent control in NYC? They do. I already googled it.

Last year Seattle's city council tried to saddle Amazon with an average $500.00 per employee "head fee" to pay for homelessness and low income housing, about $22.5 million. This was going to change to a 7% payroll tax in 2021. Apparently there was a compromise that cut those add on fees in half.
I saw quite a few articles attempting to rationalize the democrats position on Amazon in NY by comparing it to NYC. "Amazon doesn't want to be a good neighbor." They stated Amazon ruined Seattle. Keep it up democrats. Your brand of rhetoric is a no go, as in NY and Seattle will now be classified as NO GO ZONES for business.
