But there's so much to talk about. What is the word on the street about the East Middle school alleged strip searches? I'm tending to believe the 12 year old students. Certainly it's a dignity issue. I wonder if the school nurse is carrying malpractice insurance.

I saw Governor Cuomo has called for an investigation. If I remember correctly, the Board of Regents has a lawyer on staff that is also a nurse. I can't remember her name, something Irish...it's been a number of years since I've had to consult with her. It is her job to listen and act on complaints from the public sector.
Is telling a student to "shake out your bra" part of data collection? Just asking...I have to say, I'm middle aged, I've never even heard ^those words on Law and Order.

I'm sure it did happen. 12 years old girls don't lie about things like that. I heard on WNBF the nurse lawyered up and the 12 yr olds refuse to speak to the police. OF COURSE THEY DO...how mortifying for them!
President Trump is on TV right now pleading for unity. Unity among the states, fine. Parties? NO way. Last week on WNBF someone called in talking about 11 yr old boys in dresses dancing on TV, Governor Cuomo's agenda and obviously closer to home, the strip searching of preteen students. The liberals think they can take all kinds of liberties with the dignity of people and expect the rest of us to go along with it.

Well they say a lot of republicans and conservatives are hypocritically referred to as the "moral majority., Fine. Let us not speak to morals but IMO, part of making America great again should be making America dignified again.

In discussing the case with the 12 yrs olds with former coworkers, we're wondering if the nurse was an LPN or RN. It used to be only RN's could be school nurses but these days I guess lpns can do the job with an offsite supervising rn? Getting back to the original question...what part of "shake out your bra" is a "medical assessment"? Keeping in mind according to the nurse state practice act, lpns are not allowed to do assessments, they are only allowed to collect data. The heart of the question is what I originally asked...is searching for the drug or medication an allowed action per policy and procedure of data collection? I'm guessing that's why Governor Cuomo is asking to see the policy and procedure manual.
I'm also wondering if strip searches, as detailed by the young ladies as they described, are within the scope of training, knowledge and experience of the nurse in question? I watch LIVE PD. The police officers appear to have a very detailed methodology for conducting even just the most cursory of searches.
